Detox For Defined Coils That Pop and Smooth Skin and Soft

By now you’ve heard of the big “trend” detoxing. Of course it’s nothing new,but it’s back in the forefront and quite popular. Many companies are branding detox teas as efficient ways to rid of unwanted weight. How accurate are these claims? Me and my coins will never know. However what I do know is how amazing clay detox can be for your hair and skin.

I first started using clay on my hair, as part of the Max Hydration Method. MHM is a hair regimen gaining popularity in the natural hair community. It is designed to help retain moisture in type 4 hair that tends to be dryer than other hair types. So far with the use of Now Moroccan Red Clay Powder I have noticed a lot of changes in the look and feel of my coils. Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay is another brand that I recommend. The great thing about these products is that they’re 100% natural and can be used on all skin and hair types. In my experience it has also done a great job at smoothing my skin. However, detoxing does create a drying effect and following up with a moisturizer is highly suggested.

Here is the mix I used on my hair and skin:

Clay Mix For Face:

1. Use 1/2 cup of clay, such as, Moroccan Red Clay or Bentonite Clay
2. Add 1 tablespoon of honey
3. Mix in water slowly until the consistency is to your liking.
4. Leave on for 15-20 minutes
5. Moisturize when done

Clay Mix For Hair:

The same mix can be applied to hair with or without the addition of olive oil or other essential oils of your choosing. The clay mix can stay on hair for longer than 15 minutes with no harsh effects. Again remember to moisturize your hair after completely washing out clay mix. Co-wash hair with a conditioner of your choice and then apply a water based leave in. Oil is not a moisturizer.

Clay Powders are available at vitamin stores like Vitamin Shoppe and online through Amazon. Prices vary by product and size.
